Public Health Management Institute in collaboration with Andhra Pradesh State AIDS Control Society conducted a one day capacity building workshop on 15 th January 2010. The objective of the workshop was to sensitize and train Field Expert Groups members on the process of District Annual Action Plan.

Public health experts belonging to various government and private organisations such as Andhra Pradesh State AIDS Control Society, Centres for Disease Control & Prevention, TSU, Alliance India , Lepra Society, CHAI, FHI, Clinton Foundation, Population Services International, Swagati, TNP+, SAATHII, CARE India and APAIDSCON attended the workshop.

Focus areas and templates related to various HIV program components such as Basic Services, Care Support & Treatment, Blood Safety, Targeted Interventions, and IEC were explained by the respective component heads from APSACS. The focus of the FEG members' training was to maintain uniformity, consistency and standardization through scientific evidence based processes in preparing the 23 districts plans.

During the DAP preparation, the participants were responsible for reviewing the data sets at state level and identify potential gaps. Besides, they were expected to facilitate and provide handholding support to the district teams during the planning process ensuring limited dependency on them .
